Frequently Asked Questions
Who is RSA
RSA is a digital bespoke tailor. We bring fine tailoring in classic, yet contemporary styles to any man, anywhere in the world, designed and cut for him in his choice of fabric. Our house style features true drape-cut coats and full cut trousers. All of our garments are crafted to traditional standards with full canvassing and ample handwork. Whereas in the past, you had to be in London, Paris, Milan or another major city to obtain work of this quality, you can now order directly, wherever you are, without sacrificing the personalized attention to detail that tailors have traditionally provided only on their own premises.
What makes RSA unique?
First, our digital platform and infrastructure enable you, the customer, to receive a true bespoke experience from your own home or office, inclusive of the personal contact and personalized service that bespoke customers value and expect. Second, customers who are looking for genuine drape-cut jackets and classic, full-cut trousers will find them only at RSA.
How does the order process work?
Each order consists of the following stages: - Your order is placed on the website - First video call is scheduled with the RSA team to consult with you regarding your order - Tailor drafts, constructs, and ships your trial garment - You try on the trial garment, take and attach photographs to your order's chat - Second video call is scheduled with you to review the trial garment and collect additional feedback - Tailor makes appropriate adjustments to your pattern based on trial garment feedback - Tailor constructs final garment and ships to you.
How long does the process take?
From order placement to final garment normally takes between 45 and 60 days. This depends on how quickly you return the trial garment comments. From order placement to trial garment is normally about 30 days
How do i know the status of my order?
You can navigate to your Orders Page to check the regular updates we provide.
How is bespoke tailoring online different from made-to-measure?
Normally, a made-to-measure tailor will take your measurements and apply them to a standard pattern that he uses for all his garments. While your garments will usually fit you fairly well (assuming that your measurements are correct), the tailor will not create a pattern especially for you. If you are taller or shorter than average, or wider in the shoulders than most men, for example, the suit or jacket will probably not fit you very well. That said, made-to-measure is useful if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive and relatively well-fitting garment. With online bespoke tailoring, a personal pattern is drafted for you specifically. This pattern takes into account your posture and proportions. In addition, there is a fitting stage where a trial garment is crafted to test this pattern before moving to the final cloth.
Are RSA clothes genuinely bespoke?
Every customer has their own pattern. Using measurements and other details captured with your order, followed by an in-person video call, our tailors create a trial garment mock-up for you to try on. You then photograph yourself wearing the trial garment and we discuss any modifications that may be required. The tailors then produce the finished garment, which is shipped to the customer.
Are RSA clothes made by hand?
A majority of the design and construction are done by hand. Patterns are drafted using traditional methods and then digitized for future use. Sections necessary for the shaping and detail of the garments, such as lapels, canvas, buttons, button holes, and pick stitching are all done by hand. Other tasks, such as stitching trousers, are done by machine for increased durability. There is no mass production, a skilled tailor is always guiding each step, and everything is checked by the master tailor before a garment is pronounced complete.
What style do you offer?
RSA's garments are cut and put together in RSA's house style: drape-cut jackets, classic, full-cut trousers that sit on the customer's natural waist. All our garments reflect this house style.
